Queen City QB to visit

Austin Kendall is one of the top 2016 prospects in North Carolina. The Charlotte (N.C.) Christian quarterback spoke with Scout.com about his recruitment, future and more.

Austin Kendall helped lead Charlotte Christian to a state championship last season. Due to his high level of play, his recruitment has continued to gain momentum.

"I have offers from Tennessee, N.C. State and UNC–Charlotte," said the 6-foot-2, 200-pound Kendall. "Those schools are still recruiting me. I've also been in contact Clemson, UCLA, Georgia and North Carolina lately."

Which school could be next to offer?

"I'm not really sure – either UCLA or Clemson," he said. "But you never know, I just have to keep working.

"(UCLA Quarterbacks) coach (Taylor) Mazzone – we talk a lot. Our relationship is really good. And at Clemson, I talk to (quarterbacks) coach (Chad) Morris a lot. We have a really good relationship, too." Kendall will start taking visits this weekend.

"I'm going to Clemson on Saturday and N.C. State on Sunday," he said. "I'm also thinking about going to UCLA soon.

"This summer, I'll probably camp at Clemson, UCLA and Penn State."

Although he is looking forward to his upcoming visits and camps, Kendall's main focus is becoming a better football player.

"I'm definitely focused on getting faster and improving my arm strength," Kendall said. "I also want to continue improving academically like always."

During his sophomore season, Kendall completed 111-of-182 passes for 1,668 yards and 20 touchdowns and rushed for over 300 yards and three touchdowns.
