Different kind of vibe

J.D. and Judah Davis have been around the Clemson football facilities plenty of times over the years. But last weekend's experience was quite different.

LB J.D. Davis Profile

The twin sons of the ‘The Judge' Jeff Davis, J.D. and Judah probably know their way around the West End Zone as much as anybody who frequents that building.

J.D. shared his thoughts with CUTigers earlier this week about his time over there last weekend.

"This time, I actually kind of felt like I was a player at Clemson," he said. "Just meeting with the coaches and going to the facilities and hanging out with the players, I got the full experience."

Davis spent time several of his future coaches, including linebackers coach Brent Venables.

What stood out about that?

"Just how genuinely excited they are for us to come and can't wait for us to be there," he said.

As a senior at Daniel High School, Davis had 79 tackles, five tackles for loss and three sacks. He also returned an interception 33 yards for a touchdown.

After graduating early, he and his brother are enrolled at Tri-County Tech this semester. They're taking three classes: economics, calculus and English.

The Davis twins will continue to take classes at Tri-County this year. Next January, they'll be on scholarship at Clemson.

"I'm not as excited as I probably will be, probably by this time next year. It's pretty nice knowing that I have a really good plan, a really good plan in action," J.D. said.
