Ready to sign

Three-star running back commitment C.J. Fuller will sign on Wednesday, but will he have the grades to qualify and make it to Clemson later this year?

The Easley High School senior caught up with CUTigers earlier this week to give the latest.

"I'm in good shape," he said, regarding his academic standing. "I've still got work to do, but I'm pretty good. I've just got to finish strong."

Fuller got some clarity on all that last month when he took an official visit to Clemson.

"I had a pretty good first semester, finished up strong last year, so I'm in pretty good shape now, so I don't have to worry about that anymore," he said.

In the meantime, he looks forward to signing a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday morning.

"It feels good. It's like a dream coming true. I'm just really excited about it. I can't wait," Fuller said.

When asked what he hopes to accomplish at Clemson, Fuller wasn't too specific.

"Just getting in there and playing the game of football, just getting a degree and having fun, enjoying myself while I'm doing it," he said.

Fuller added, "I just want to learn everything, learn the system, workout hard and really just go from there, see how everything goes."

Though his senior season at Easley didn't go exactly to plan -- the Green Wave finished 5-7 -- Fuller is building off of that for the next level.

"It's like motivation," he said. "I didn't get to prove myself, go out with a bang, but I just want to get an opportunity again."

This spring, Fuller will run in the 100-meter, 4x100 and possibly the 200.

"I'm working out a little bit, getting ready for track, it's coming up. We start next week, next Monday. I'm just getting ready for track so I can do well in that," he said.

As a junior, Fuller rushed for over 2,000 yards and scored 19 touchdowns. He finished with 115 carries for 805 yards as a sophomore. Top Stories
