Five-star DT sees Clemson

Tim Settle, who's ranked by as the No. 3 overall defensive tackle in the class of 2015, visited Clemson earlier this month for Junior Day.

The Stonewall Jackson High School [Manassas, Va.] junior recently spoke with CUTigers about the trip, which was his first visit to Clemson.

"I had a good time at their Junior Day. I got to talk to coach [Dan] Brooks a lot. I had fun," Settle said.

What was Brooks' message for Settle?

"That he's not leaving. He's going to be there and that he's waiting for you."

Settle also got a good feel for the campus.

"It was beautiful," he said. "I really like the campus. It was better than a lot of colleges. I just loved it. It was a great environment. It was beautiful. I liked it."

Like several of the prospects who've already been interviewed about the Junior Day experience, Settle walked away impressed by the emphasis on family.

"They're a family with open arms," he said.

Listed at 6-foot-3, 310 pounds, Settle is already one of the most highly coveted prospects in the country. Settle has offers from just about every school in the country, including Clemson, Alabama Florida State, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, USC, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

"I don't have a top five or favorites," he said. "I'm open to all schools."

When asked what factors will be considered, Settle said, "Visits. I've got to have a good visit."

Settle has no visits planned for the immediate future.

Settle finished his sophomore season with 72 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, three sacks, five pass deflections and two fumble recoveries. Top Stories
