The First Academy [Orlando, Fla.] junior recently spoke with CUTigers about that trip.

"It was a great experience. I've taken a number of trips up to Clemson and I would have to say that was my favorite," Williams said.

What made this one so special?

"We just got to spend a lot of good time with coach [Jeff] Scott and coach [Dabo] Swinney and see a lot of special things, like go up to the stadium at night, see The Rock, they showed me a highlight video inside of Death Valley at night.

"I got to hang out with Stanton Seckinger a little bit [and] then we ate dinner with them on campus. There were just a lot of special things with the coaches."

What was their message?

"It's pretty much the same thing they've been telling me. I'm really high on their board. They see me as the perfect fit for them and they could be a good fit for me, too. I mean, that's pretty much the message they've been displaying all along, but I love Clemson, definitely."

UNC hosted Williams for a visit last week. He hasn't set any dates yet, but he plans on taking visits to Stanford and Florida State.

Williams shared a tentative timeline for a decision.

"I would say around early summer maybe," he said.

Ranked by as the No. 9 tight end prospect in the class of 2015, Williams continues to list two ACC programs among his favorites.

"The main ones are Clemson and FSU," he said. "There are a few more also that I'm really looking." Top Stories
