Last season, sophomore playmaker James Valdez starred on both sides of the ball for Lake Marion High School.
Due to his efforts, college coaching staffs are already showing interest.
"Right now, the main schools that I'm hearing from are Clemson, South Carolina and Georgia," said the 5-foot-11, 178-pound Valdez."
Which school could be first to offer?
"I think South Carolina could be first," he said. "They have been recruiting me hard since I went to their camp last summer.
Valdez also mentioned a few other schools he would like to hear from soon.
"I'd like to hear from Florida State, Florida, North Carolina State and the big one I'd like to hear from is Alabama," he said.
Valdez is starting to think about his summer plans.
"I supposed to be going to camps at Alabama, Florida and North Carolina State," Valdez said.
He has high goals from his junior campaign.
"This year, I'm trying to break Mike Williams' (former Lake Marion and current Clemson wide receiver) record.
"As a team, we're trying to get past Dillon. Every year we get to the third round and lose to them. But this year, we want to beat them and get to the state championship game."
