On the road to recovery

Four-star outside linebacker Johnathan Sutton was well on his way to a strong junior season at Swansea High School. Then, he suffered a rather significant setback.

Sutton tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus in the third game of the season, a 40-21 loss at Chapin.

Six months later, he spoke with CUTigers.

"I'm doing great," Sutton said.

The rehab process is almost over.

"I've got like a month," he said. "Then, I'll be done."

Ranked by Scout.com as the No. 14 outside linebacker in the class of 2015, Sutton is rated as a four-star prospect.

Clemson, Florida State, N.C. State, South Carolina, UNC, UCLA and Virginia Tech have offered. Because of the injury, his fall visits were limited. He did make it to Clemson for the Georgia and Florida State games.

Sutton wants to get out and about in the spring.

"I'm trying to make it to most of the schools around the state radius and out," he said.

He has no leader, nor a list of favorites.

"I think it's just going to happen when I feel which school I feel like going to," Sutton said.

Several factors will be considered in the meantime.

"Education, how I fit in and playing time," he said.
