Junior Day offer

Before finishing up with Saturday's Junior Day festivities at Clemson, three-star defensive tackle Justin Young picked up an offer from the Tigers.

Clemson was offer No. 3 for Young, who checks in at 6-3, 260 pounds.

"We went to the basketball game and I talked to the defensive coordinator [Brent Venables] and coach Dabo Swinney. I spoke with them and my dad and that's when coach Dabo Swinney offered," he told CUTigers on Saturday night.

Georgia and Marshall have also offered the Grayson High School [Loganville, Ga.] junior.

"It was a good feeling," he said of Clemson's offer. "I just feel blessed."

It was also his first visit to Tigertown.

"Clemson is a nice school. They have great facilities, great coaches, great players, the academics are strong. That's what stood out," Young said.

Clemson is home to three former Grayson players: Wayne Gallman, Ryan Carter and Nick Schuessler. Young spoke with Gallman during the trip.

"He said he enjoys it, said it's a great school. He said congratulations on the offer and he's proud of me. He likes it at Clemson," Young said.

Georgia and Auburn hosted him for junior day events earlier this year. For now, he has no other campus visits scheduled.

Young has no list of favorites. In the meantime, a number of factors will be considered as he continues to pick up more offers.

"Definitely the academics and how the players like the school," he said, "Not just the first-team, but the second and third-team, how they like it. All the first-team guys are going to like it, because they're starting. But the second and third-team…if they say it's a good school and they like it, then it's a plus."
