Clemson to host Georgia State

Clemson will open NIT play on Tuesday night with Georgia State. The 3rd-seeded Tigers will host the regular season champions from the Sun Belt at 9 o'clock.

Georgia State is led by former N.C. State point guard Ryan Harrow, who also played one season at Kentucky before transferring to Georgia State. Harrow scored 37 points in the Sun Belt Championship game loss to UL-Lafayette.

Georgia State finished league play with a 17-1 record. Their first-place finish during the regular season gave them an automatic bid to the NIT.

R.J. Hunter, the son of head coach Ron Hunter, leads the team with 18.4 points per game.

Harrow averaged 17.9 while Manny Atkins and Devonta White averaged 14.5 and 11.5, respectively.

Hunter and Atkins have made 98 and 73 3-point shots, respectively.

White and Harrow have 145 and 141 assists, respectively.

Atkins leads the team with 6.1 rebounds per game. Curtis Washington has blocked 75 shots.

The four leading scorers each have at least 37 steals this season. Hunter leads the way with 62.

In November, Georgia State lost games to Vandebilt and Alabama.

The winner of the Clemson/Georgia state game will play the winner of Illinois and Boston University. Top Stories
