Fruhmorgen recaps Florida trip

Jake Fruhmorgen is not far from a decision and Florida is one of the schools he is considering. The Gators had him on campus Saturday and UF is still on his mind.

Jake Fruhmorgen opened up to Scout last week and revealed Clemson had the lead.

The Tigers had Fruhmorgen on their campus recently and it was Florida's turn Saturday.

The Gators have been in this race from the beginning and he liked what he saw Saturday.

"I got to sit in the meetings and spend a little time with some players too. It was all good."

Outside of spending time with some current Gators and seeing the team go to work on the practice field, head coach Will Muschamp gave the Scout 300 offensive tackle some of his time.

The Gators have made Fruhmorgen a priority and Muschamp gave him some things to think about.

"Coach Muschamp's message was about me playing in state and how my upside was tremendous," said Fruhmorgen. "He said I would have a chance to participate early too."

The message was well received by the four-star out of Tampa (Fla.) Plant and the Gators are right there in this race.

"Florida is an hour or so up the road and I like the coaches, even a little better than I did before [the visit]. I just need to keep an open mind and even take a look at other schools as well before I commit."

A commitment is still likely to happen by the middle of April.

Clemson and Florida among others are fighting for Fruhmorgen and he will visit a few schools next weekend.

Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State are schools the 6-foot-5, 287 pound junior plans to visit next weekend. Those are likely the final schools he will see before he makes his decision.

Fruhmorgen is the No. 10 offensive tackle in the country on Scout. Top Stories
