Better than expected

Earlier this month, Jayson Stanley, a 6-3, 200-pound wide receiver with sub 4.5 speed in the 40, made his first visit to Clemson.

The Creekside High School [Fairburn, Ga.] three-star prospect recently spoke with CUTigers about that visit.

"It was real fun. It was a lot better than I had expected. The whole family atmosphere and everything, it was just nice overall," Stanley said.

According to, he's ranked as the No. 39 wide receiver in the class of 2015. The Clemson staff might think he's a little better than that.

"I'm really one of the top guys that they're recruiting, they did make me feel like I was…we went in the film room and watched a lot of film on things," Stanley said.

That impressed him.

"I was definitely impressed with how much they threw it, a lot. But I really liked the offense that they run as well, a lot of what they let Sammy Watkins do," Stanley said.

Stanley grew up liking a couple of other schools, too.

"Oregon was No. 1, always. I liked a lot of the SEC schools, Florida. I never really paid a lot of attention to the Georgia games, but now that I got to reality, I'm definitely going to watch them now," Stanley said.

With no favorites to speak of right now, his offer lists includes Clemson, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia and Wisconsin.

As a junior, he had 53 catches, with over 1,000 yards and 18 touchdowns. Top Stories
