Clemson offers heavily recruited CB

Last week, Clemson offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell spoke with four-star cornerback Cameron Ordway, a junior from Giles County High School in Tennessee.

Ranked by as the No. 22 cornerback in the class of 2015, Ordway has an impressive offer sheet, which includes Alabama, Auburn, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State and Tennessee.

Ordway was informed of the Clemson offer on Tuesday.

"[Caldwell] had talked to my head coach and my head coach called me and told me to give him a call, because he wanted to offer and I talked to [Mike Reed]," he said, during last week's interview with CUTigers.

The 6-1, 170-pound prospect admitted that he's got to do some research on Clemson.

"I don't really know much about them. I know they're in the ACC," he said. "They're probably the second best team in the ACC, next to Florida State. They always have good receivers, but other than that, I don't know much about them."

A trip to Tigertown could be in the works.

"I'm going to try to get there during the season, hopefully, or this summer," Ordway said.

This spring, he's visited Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and Ole Miss.

What's next?

"I'm going to head to Ohio State. I'm going to the Nike camp up there, so I'll probably be there for the camp."

Who leads?

"I'm completely open right now."

And he's in no rush to make a decision.

"I'm going to take my five officials, take more visits," Ordway said.

A couple of factors will be considered along the way.

"Relationship with the coaches, early playing time," he said. "That's pretty much it."

As a junior, Ordway had 75 total tackles [40 solo] and nine interceptions. Top Stories
