Mom sees the favorite

At one point in the not too distant past, Juval Mollette had Clemson and UNC has his co-leaders. After visiting for the spring game, the Tigers are out front.

The Randleman High School [N.C.] three-star recently spoke with CUTigers about that trip.

"It went really well. That was my first time ever bringing my mom anywhere and she really enjoyed herself," Mollette said.

That was a pretty big deal.

"I've already been there a couple of times. I was mainly just there for my mom," Mollette said.

With that in mind, Clemson's coaches focused their efforts on her.

"They really didn't talk to me as much as they talked to my mom. They were really trying to get to know my mom," Mollette said.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound prospect also shared his thoughts on the game.

"They looked pretty young, but they still throw it around a good bit. I felt like they're going to work hard enough to be good this year," he said.

What's next?

"I went to Chapel Hill's junior day, but I'm probably going to go in a couple of weeks, take my mom up there."

Is there a timeline for a decision?

"I was thinking late summer, but now I don't know. I kind of want to take some officials, so I might wait it out."

After Clemson and UNC, a few other schools are also in contention.

"Michigan, Virginia Tech, Ohio State and Tennessee," Mollette said.

As a junior, he had 87 catches for 700 yards and 11 touchdowns.
