Tim Settle Profile
Last week, Tim Settle picked up his most recent offer from Auburn.
"Auburn is in a state where it's all about college football," said the 6-foot-3, 310-pound Settle. "There's no NFL team, so it's Auburn and Alabama. Their defense is really strong and so is their offense.
"(Defensive line) coach (Rodney) Gardner has put a lot of guys in the NFL, too. I try to call him as much as I can and I'm going to make sure I get down there for a visit this summer."
His most recent trips were to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma was first.
"Oklahoma was really fun," Settle said. "They have a lot of tradition. I got to see the campus and the spring game. I also got to talk to all the coaches and other recruits."
"The coaches were telling me that they're losing some defensive linemen and that they needed me. They told me that if I come in and perform, I'll have a chance to play early. It was a lot of fun and I will go back."
Oklahoma State was next.
"It's one of the prettiest campuses I've ever been to and the facilities were top-notch," Settle said. "It was also a very active campus – a lot of people were walking around.
"Football-wise, they have a great defense and they really get after it. I talked to coach (Mike) Gundy and a few of the other coaches. The conversations went really well and I had a great time."
In regards to upcoming visits, Settle said he planned to visit Clemson, Georgia Tech and Tennessee. However, he has not set any dates yet.
"I really feel like Clemson, Florida State and Tennessee are recruiting me the hardest," he said. "I'm not naming a top three, but I have a lot of interest in those schools."
What will be his next step in the recruiting process?
"By the time two-a-days get here, I'm going to have a top 13 – so probably late in July or the middle of August," Settle said. "The three schools I mentioned will most likely be in there. The Virginia teams (Virginia and Virginia Tech) are recruiting me hard and Arizona State is, too."
Settle said he could make his decision right after his season or at the Under Armour All-American game in January.
