The latest on Huggins

Clemson defensive ends coach Marion Hobby stopped by Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School last Monday, the first day Tiger coaches were on the recruiting trail.

Hobby was there to see four-star defensive tackle Albert Huggins. Coaches from UNC and N.C. State also stopped by that day. South Carolina and Florida sent coaches later on in the week.

"[Hobby] came to see me, just said hello and kept on moving," Huggins said, during a recent interview with CUTigers. "I talked to him the day after that. I talked to him on Twitter. We were just having a conversation."

Huggins hopes to visit a pair of SEC schools in the coming weeks and months.

"I'm going to try to go to Georgia in like two or three weeks, we'll see how it is. I'm going to try to go to Georgia and then Florida in the summer sometime," Huggins said.

There haven't been any return trips set for Clemson and South Carolina.

"I've been to Clemson six or seven times and I've been to USC at least five or six times, so I've got to get out and venture more to other schools, so I don't know yet," Huggins said.

With plans to graduate early from high school, Huggins will have a decision made by December, but he doesn't appear to be in great rush to make to make a commitment.

"The last couple of years I've only been to three schools," he said, "So I really can't put a list together. Hopefully, when I'm able to go to Florid and Georgia, I can start putting a list together and try to get out to some more schools after that, too, so we'll see how it is."

What other schools is he interested in seeing?

"I want to go see Auburn and Florida State. I'll see how that works out. If I get to Florida, Florida State, Georgia and maybe I'll go out to Tennessee or something like that. I don't know yet. If I can get to those schools, I'll see how it works from there." rates Huggins as a four-star and rates him as the No. 10 defensive tackle in the class of 2015.

As a junior, he had 65 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and four fumbles. Top Stories
