Five-star update

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Josh Sweat has offers from across the country. The five-star defensive end spoke with about his recruitment, future and more.

Josh Sweat is being pursued by every major college football program in the country.

"My latest offer was from Notre Dame," said the 6-foot-5, 240-pound Sweat. "Right now, I don't know much about them, but I'm obviously interested in them. Hopefully, I'll get to speak to some coaches soon."

Sweat most recent visit was to Virginia Tech and with summer approaching, he has started to focus on future trips.

"I should have a list of places I want to visit pretty soon," he said. "Other than Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida State, Clemson and Ohio State are some of the schools that have been recruiting me the hardest. Those are some schools I'd like to visit this summer."

In regards to his recruitment, Sweat will be making some major decisions in the next three to four months.

"I'm going to try my best to cut my list down before the end of the summer, but it could go into the season," he said. "When I do narrow it down, I'm going to cut it to five.

"The schools I mentioned that are recruiting me the hardest are in good shape, but nothing is official or set."

He has a timeline for his decision and knows what factors will help him make his choice.

"I'm going to make my announcement at the Under Armour All-American game," Sweat said. "When I make my decision, I'm going to be sure because I won't be decommitting. I'm making one commitment."

"The deciding factors are going to be my comfort level with the coaches, where I feel like I fit in the best and a place where I know I'll get my degree."

Sweat finished his junior season with 94 tackles and 24 sacks. Top Stories
