Tigers in lead group for 2015 CB

In search of more bodies to add to the defensive backfield in 2015, Clemson recently sent out an offer to this three-star prospect from Mobile, Alabama.

CB Jalen Thompson Profile

Clemson defensive ends coach Marion Hobby recently stopped by St. Paul's Episcopal School to check in on junior cornerback Jalen Thompson.

"The coach came down and visited, but I really couldn't talk to him. He told my head coach and he let me know that I had the offer," Thompson said, during a recent interview with CUTigers.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect has some learning to do about Clemson.

"I really don't know much, but I've been keeping in touch with them the last couple of years, but I really don't know much about them," he said.

A trip is in the works.

"I plan to visit this summer. I would love to get up to Death Valley," Thompson said.

Where else does he hope to visit this summer?

"I'll probably go to Florida, Miami, Georgia, Clemson and South Carolina."

In no particular order, Thompson has a top-five that includes Florida, Miami, Clemson, South Carolina and Georgia. He hopes to have a decision made by the end of August.

"I'm just going to take visits to the schools and see how they are," he said.

As a junior, Thompson had 41 solo tackles, 21 pass breakups, eight interceptions, three forced fumbles and two sacks.
