Backfield option

With just one senior running back on the Clemson roster, it would appear the Tigers are in position to add a running back in the 2015 signing class.

RB Shawn Furlow Profile

Shawn Furlow, a junior from South Central High School in Winterville, N.C. recently told CUTigers that the Tigers joined his offer sheet during the current evaluation period.

"One of my coaches had told me that I had been offered by Clemson," Furlow said.

With offers from Duke, East Carolina, Purdue and Syracuse, Furlow was surprised to learn that Clemson offered.

"It did catch me off guard," he said.

Furlow added, "I had no contact at all with those coaches from Clemson."

The 5-10, 180-pound prospect is still learning about the Tigers..

"Right now, I still don't know anything about their program. I'm doing a lot of research about their program, but as far as information about the school, I do not have any," he said.

This summer, Furlow plans to hit make his way down to Tigertown and a few other college campuses.

"I don't have anything setup at this time. I know I am supposed to try to make it down there to Clemson though," he said.

Furlow went on two visits this spring.

"I went to ECU's junior day, N.C. State's junior day and that's it," he said.

The three-star prospect has no list of favorites, but a few criteria to consider while working through the process.

"The environment, coaches and atmosphere," Furlow said.

As a junior, he had 181 carries, 1,500 yards and 25 touchdowns. Top Stories
