Five-star reviews Clemson visit

Earlier this spring, Clemson hosted five-star outside linebacker Keion Joyner for a visit. How'd it go? What did he do? And what's next?

OLB Keion Joyner Profile

A sophomore at Havelock High School in North Carolina, Joyner already has an impressive list of offers, including Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Ohio State, Penne State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

The trip to Clemson was his first visit in Tigertown.

"I remember visiting the practice site and seeing the way they did and how they would be running formations. And the 1-on-1 drills, that was impressive," Joyner told CUTigers.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound prospect was impressed with what he saw from the Clemson coaches.

"They were pretty laid back, but at the same time, they wanted to get the job done. If you made a mistake, they corrected the error," Joyner said.

Overall, he believes the Clemson program is headed in the right direction.

"I feel like they're going to make it far just because of the talent they have all around and the players coming together, they'll make each other better," Joyner said.

In addition to Clemson, Joyner visited LSU and Auburn during the spring. This summer, he'll head to Auburn, Florida, Miami and Alabama.

Who leads?

"It's too early in the process to say."

Several factors will be considered.

"The coaches showing how close they are with the players, the brotherhood with the players, the communication and just showing the family it's a great environment to be around and the academics," Joyner said.

During his sophomore season, Joyner finished with 101 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, two interceptions, seven pass breakups, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
