Peach state CB picks up Clemson offer

This Peach state cornerback picked up an offer from Clemson last week and can't wait to make the quick trip to Tigertown.

Defensive backs coach Mike Reed stopped by Jonesboro High School last Thursday before delivering the news to sophomore Jordan Griffin.

"Coach Reed came to my school during study hall hours, after school with the football team. He then notified me and my family," Griffin told CUTigers, during a recent interview.

The 6-foot, 170-pound cornerback was excited to add it to his list.

"It means a lot," he said. "Clemson is a very good program. It was a very good experience getting an offer from Clemson. Hopefully, I'll get some more, but it was a very good experience and I do like Clemson."

Cincinnati, Ole Miss and N.C. State have honored that wish, jumping in with offers this week. Kentucky was first to offer.

As for Clemson, Griffin is still learning about the program.

"I don't know too much about Clemson exactly, I just know about the players that have gone through Clemson and the players they've put into the league," he said. "Exactly the history of Clemson, I'm not too sure about it."

His teammate, 2016 quarterback Zerrick Cooper also has an offer from Clemson. He was in Tigertown earlier this spring for the Orange and White game.

"Kind of the same scenario with me, he likes Clemson also, knows about the program," Griffin said. "He got a chance to go up there and visit them, said it was a very nice campus, very nice. They're building a new facility for the football team and it's real nice.

"I can't wait to see when we go up there and visit Clemson."
