WR Cornell Powell Profile
Clemson defensive backs coach Mike Reed was by the school recently to check on Powell.
"He came down last week and we talked about me coming down there this summer to visit and meet the rest of the coaches and stuff," Powell told CUTigers earlier this week.
The 6-1, 190-pound prospect spoke further about Clemson.
"I've watched a couple of their games on TV. I really like Clemson. I just have to go there and visit, to find out more about it," he said.
That's not the only school Powell hopes to see later this summer.
"I want to go to Georgia and Ole Miss. That's about it. All the other schools I've been to," he said.
Powell has visited ECU, N.C. State and UNC. Those three, along with Clemson, Georgia Tech and Ole Miss have offered.
There is no list of favorites.
"It's too early right now, but I'll know by my junior year, that's when I want to decide," Powell said.
He'll be on the lookout for a few factors while moving through the recruiting process.
"The program is headed in the right direction, the coach and the school, in terms of academics," Powell said.
During his sophomore season, Powell had 47 catches for 1,230 yards and 21 touchdowns.
