Four-star RB talks top five

Crestwood High School [Sumter] junior running back Ty'Son Williams recently released his top five schools.

RB Ty'Son Williams Profile

Clemson, UNC, Notre Dame, South Carolina and Wisconsin make up that list, in no particular order. Earlier this week, CUTigers caught up with Williams to talk about each of the schools.

Clemson: I just like what they're doing with their program. They're going in the right direction. It's on the up. It's close to home, too.

Notre Dame: That's just a traditional school. They work hard. They were in the national championship a few years ago. I feel like they always play at the highest level. I like what they do with their backs.

UNC: They have a good program. I like what they're trying to do. I think they're going to be pretty good this year and years coming.

South Carolina: Always in the Top 10. I like what they do offensively with their backs.

What's next?

"I'm going to make a decision before my senior season. Y'all will know then, before my senior season."

A set of criteria will be kept in mind between now and then.

"Just the conversations with the coaches, getting there, getting on the campuses, having that feel, I've got to have that feel for it," Williams said.

So far during the spring evaluation period, Clemson running backs coach Tony Elliott and offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell have been by Crestwood. Both are in regular contact with Williams.

"They're just talking about school, just life in general," Williams said.

As a junior, he rushed for over 1,600 yards and 17 touchdowns.
