Last week, defensive coordinator Brent Venables stopped by the school to deliver the news.

"I called a week before that and he said that he'd come by, shake my hand and meet me," Skalski told CUTiges, during a recent interview.

Clemson's offer joined Louisville, UNC and Wake Forest.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 220 pounds, Skalaski has spent some time in a few summer days in Clemson..

"I went there for a soccer camp and loved it," Skalski said.

He added, "I know it's a college town. They're all about football there. It's just a fun university and a good football program."

A return trip is in the works, this time for the American version of the sport.

"This summer, I'm going to stop by," Skalski said.

The 2016 prospect has no favorites.

"It's a little too early," he said. "I like a lot of schools. I want to find the one that just fits for me, I guess."

A few factors will be considered.

"Just a good college town, a good environment and not a lot of distractions," Skalski said.

As a sophomore, he had 120 tackles, seven sacks and an interception.
