After receiving close to 60 scholarship offers, Ricky DeBerry narrowed his list to 20 in March.
He is still considering Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, LSU, Miami, Michigan State, Nebraska, North Carolina Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, South Carolina, USC, UCLA, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
Which schools has he had the most interaction with recently?
"Lately, I've had the most contact with Clemson, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, UCLA, Arizona State and Miami," said 6-foot-2, 240-pound DeBerry.
His most recent visit was to Ohio State.
"Oh, man, Ohio State is great," DeBerry said. "I really love the atmosphere there and the coaching staff. I love the way the coaching staff does things.
"(Defensive line) coach (Larry) Johnson was at Penn State and I have a great relationship with him. So it was great to see him. And Urban Meyer has won everywhere he's been."
DeBerry has some summer visits in mind.
"I plan on getting to Alabama sometime in June," he said. "I also want to visit Arizona State and UCLA, but that might be in July. I also want to get to Nebraska, Texas A&M, Miami and Auburn."
He will make some major decisions at the end of summer.
"I'm probably going to cut it to eight in August," DeBerry said. "I already know that UVa, UNC and Virginia Tech will be in the top eight.
"Those three are close to home. I don't have to take official visits to those schools because I can just get in my car and drive to those places and come back in the same day. I definitely like those schools and can see myself at them."
Along with those three schools, DeBerry said Clemson and Michigan State have a good chance to make the list in August.
DeBerry is the nation's No. 2 outside linebacker and the 24th-ranked prospect in the 2015 class.
