Clemson running backs coach Tony Elliott was by Timberland High School last month to check on one of the biggest prospects in the state for 2016.

A rising junior Kevin McCray, currently checks in at 6-8, 320 pounds, and he's starting to draw interest from several schools.

"I know Clemson and Carolina have been by. A guy from Georgia Tech came. That's all who's came," he said, during an interview with CUTigers. "I've got some letters from N.C. State, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, teams like that."

The Elliotts at the respective instate schools remain in contact with McCray.

"I've talked to [Tony Elliott]. He's been down here a couple of times, him and Shawn Elliott from Carolina," McCray said.

This summer, he'll hit the camp circuit, hoping to pick up his first offer.

"I'm planning on going to the Clemson camp the 9th through 11th. I'm going to the Carolina camp, but I haven't decided which one yet," McCray said. "And, I think, Georgia Tech and N.C. Stare are going to be ones, too."

As for who could be that first offer, McCray isn't sure where it will come from.

"I think that's too hard to say. Everyone is still just talking, so I guess we'll see," he said.
