Richard, along with four-star prospect Cannon Smith, will arrive to Clemson later this month.

A three-star addition out of Calvary Baptist in Savannah, Georgia, Richard graduated late last month.

"I'm extremely excited. I feel like I've been committed forever so just to finally get there and really be apart of the team is exciting," he said.

Ranked by as the No. 22 overall tight end in the class of 2014, Richard said he's excited about "jumping right in" at Clemson.

"Just learning the plays, the playbook as fast as I can, being around the guys," he said. "It's a brotherhood at Clemson. I'm just ready to be a part of it."

Several of his fellow 2014 signees are already at Clemson, they've been there since enrolling in January.

"It's different from high school. You've got a little bit more free time, so they said it's just an adjustment," Richard said.

Rated by as a three-star prospect, Richard wants to make an impact at Clemson, but he doesn't necessarily have to do it right off the bat.

"I just want to come in and try to help the team anyway that I can," he said. "If that's playing right away, on special teams or a redshirt, whatever it is, whatever they think is best for me to do, that's fine.

"Anything to help us win."

As a senior, Richard had 29 receptions for 502 yards and five touchdowns. Top Stories
