Kerry Blackshear, the No. 21 ranked power forward in the class of 2015, is starting to become of the most sought big man prospects in the southeast.

Clemson, Boston College, Florida State, Mississippi State, Kansas State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and UCF are among the schools that have offered the 6-8, 220-pound power forward from Evans High School in Orlando, Florida.

Last week, Clemson head coach Brad Brownell and associate head coach Mike Winiecki spoke with Blackshear on the phone.

"Clemson has the best of both worlds, both with academics, but they all stress that they're in the ACC, so I would be able to play against elite-level competition," Blackshear said, during a recent interview with CUTigers.

Clemson has been after him since last November. They offered in May.

"I know that it's a great sports town. They're always on TV. They're in the ACC, of course, and I get to see them a lot that way," he said.

Blackshear plans to make a visit at some point, but he's yet to schedule a date.

In addition to the offers listed above, he's also hearing from Harvard and Stanford, though neither school has pulled the trigger.

There are no favorites.

"I want to go to a school where I'll be able to get some exposure, go to a school where we play some good competition and have a chance at winning, but also a school that has good academics as well," Blackshear said.

As a junior, he averaged 14 points and nine rebounds. Top Stories
