McDaniels to the 76ers

K.J. McDaniels was picked 32nd overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in Thursday night's draft.

McDaniels, the second pick of the second-round, was ACC Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-ACC pick as a junior. He had career-highs with 17.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.

No other player in the NCAA led his team in points, rebounds, blocks and 3-pointers.

Of McDaniels' career 178 blocked shots, 100 were during his junior season.

McDaniels averaged 11 points and five rebounds during his three-year career at Clemson.

McDaniels was the 76ers' third pick of the draft. Before he was selected, they took Joel Embiid at No. 3 overall and Elfrid Payton with the tenth pick before trading him to the Magic for Dario Saric, a future first-round pick and a future second-round pick. Top Stories
