Leaving an impression

Earlier this summer, this rising sophomore prospect from Florida made his first visit to the Clemson campus.

Deonte Sheffield and two of his Niceville High School teammates [Romeo Finley and Jordan Ginder] were in Clemson the day before the Dabo Swinney Football Camp kicked off.

"I liked how the offensive coordinator was telling me how the offense was fast-paced and all that," Sheffield told CUTigers, during a recent interview.

He added, "I liked it, how they're doing the new facility."

The 5-9, 175-pound prospect recently transferred to Niceville from Fort Walton Beach High School. As a sophomore, Sheffield had 41 carries for 206 yards and a touchdown. He also caught two passes for 11 yards and a score.

In addition to Clemson, he's also visited Auburn, Florida State and Tennessee.

The 2017 prospect spoke further about Clemson and his trip up to Tigertown.

"The like big lake they have," he said.
