DB Trayvon Mullen Profile
He recently spoke with CUTigers about his first visit to Tigertown.
“It was a good camp. At first, I wasn’t going to, but I started doing the camp. I came a little late, but I jumped in and did it, like 1-on-1s and some of the 7-on-7. Then, we toured the school. It was a good experience. I got a chance to go against some good receivers and get some good work in,” Mullen said.
It was the first time he met Clemson defensive backs coach Mike Reed.
“I had a chance to talk to him. Actually, he showed me, when I was going against the receivers, he said I was doing well. He gave me some tips and different stances I could use,” Mullen said.
Mullen also spoke with defensive coordinator Brent Venables and team chaplain James Trapp, who helped coach defensive backs during the camp.
“They liked the way I was using my hips. They just liked me overall during the camp. They were giving me tips to go to the next level and tips for furthering your life and things like that,” Mullen said.
Plenty stood out to him during the tour around the Clemson campus.
“It was a great tour. I liked the school. I see they were fixing it a little bit more, trying to get some Clemson things on it,” Mullen said. “They have some great things coming for 2016, my class. I like some of the things they’re building with the program.”
In addition to Clemson, several other schools have offered, including Alabama and LSU. But, at this point, Mullen isn’t ready to start narrowing down his list.
“It’s too early. I’m not going to make a decision. I’m probably going to do my top 15, then 10, then 12, seven, five and three, like that,” he said.
Several factors will be taken into consideration as he moves through the recruiting process.
“Somewhere I feel like I can learn a lot. A great coaching staff, great teammates, just all of those things like that,” Mullen said.
