Scout 300 RB favors clemson

When talking to the top running backs for 2016 in the Southeast, B.J. Emmons has to be in that conversation. The big back with power and speed is one to know...

B.J. Emmons ran for just under 2,000 yards and scored 23 touchdowns as a sophomore at Morganton (N.C.) Freedom. He also played cornerback.

His future is on the offensive side of the ball with the ball in his hands. The 5-foot-11, 213 pound junior has been clocked in the 40 yard dash at under 4.5 seconds.

Charlotte, North Carolina State, and Tennessee have offered Emmons with Clemson, Florida State, and Penn State showing interest.

BJ Emmons The Vols offered Emmons last week.

Emmons said, "My favorite right now is Clemson. I like the environment there a lot and I felt at home when I was there this summer."

The 4-star running back on Scout has never been a big college football fan, so he is approaching the recruiting process with an open mind.

He has three scholarship offers now, but that will change in the coming months. His head coach, Brandon Allen speaks very highly of him.

"B.J. is the most explosive player that I have had the opportunity to coach and he may be the best high school football player I have seen in a long time," said Coach Allen.

"He is extremely fast, he is explosive, and he can make a big play at any time. He is willing to step up and block, he can catch the ball out of the backfield, he loves contact, and he has speed. This young man is special.

"He has a great attitude, he loves to work, and other players love being around him."

"Whatever school gets him is going to be extremely happy. B.J. is a great kid, he has a great home-life, and he is a great leader for us."

Emmons is currently the No. 18 running back in the country for 2016 on Scout. Top Stories
