WR Deon Cain Profile
There's little doubt Clemson put its best foot forward Saturday afternoon in a 41-0 beat down of N.C. State. And with a handful of elite prospects in town, don't think the performance went unnoticed.
One of the prospects in attendance, of course, was Deon Cain- the No. 1 wide receiver prospect in the country according to Scout.com.
Cain traveled to Tigertown for the first time from Tampa, Fla. with fellow commitment Jake Fruhmorgen.
"The Hill was the best," Cain tells CUTigers. "I just loved being there. The game was live and I just loved the atmosphere up there."
Cain also spent a lot of time with wide receivers coach Jeff Scott and head coach Dabo Swinney. The message from Clemson's coaching staff was pretty clear too.
"The main thing they told me is that they are excited about me being in their offense next year," he said. "They were telling me they think I can help them make more big plays and that I'll be special up there."
The senior wide receiver has actually spent the majority of his final high school season playing quarterback for Tampa Bay Tech. In all, he's accounted for nearly 1,000 yards and scored six touchdowns playing in the same region as current Clemson commitment Ray Ray McCloud.
Before the trip to Clemson, he helped lead his team to a 30-15 win over Steinbrenner.
Cain also reaffirmed his commitment to the Tigers, saying he's "500 percent all in!" when asked about the current firmness of the pledge.
He also had a message for current Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson too:
"Tell Deshaun I can't wait to catch for him!" he exclaimed.
Cain resumes his senior season for Tampa Bay Tech this Friday against Plant City (Fla).
