One of the top tight ends in the south reflects on a recent spring game visit and more in this report.

TE Garrett Hooker Profile

3-star Ledford High School linebacker Garrett Hooker out of Thomasville, N.C. made a spring-game visit this weekend. Originally, Hooker thought he’d be in Clemson for the Tigers’ spring game, but since CUTigers last caught up with him, he made plans to visit Winston-Salem.

Hooker made the short trip to Wake Forest to catch the conclusion of their spring practice and spent some time with CUTigers to update his latest findings.

“Yeah, I learned a lot of fundamental things just from watching their linebackers. Coach Belin is doing great things over there,” explained Hooker.

When speaking of Clemson, Hooker was sure to note that he still plans to make a return trip to Tigertown before too long.

“I couldn’t make it to Clemson, because I had already told Wake I would go to their spring game. Hopefully I’ll get down there this spring. Clemson is special,” explained Hooker.

As Hooker looks to develop as a player, he has his eyes set on some lofty goals.

“I’m focused mostly on the Nike Football Training Camp in Charlotte right now,” continued Hooker. “I want to compete and go against great competition and dominate. If I do good there I could get to go to Oregon for The Opening. It’s a huge camp in Eugene, Oregon. Nike hosts it, and all the top talent goes. I want to go compete with those guys.”

The Nike Football Training Camp is being held in Charlotte on May 9th. Hooker is measured at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds.
