Lakip arrested

Clemson's starting placekicker was arrested, CUTigers has confirmed.

Clemson kicker Ammon Lakip was arrested on June 6 for DUI and possession of cocaine.

Lakip's bond was set at $2500 and he was released on a personal recognizance bond.

Both charges are listed as first offense for Lakip according to the public arrest record.

Clemson has not released an official statement on this matter at this time.

Lakip was a Lou Groza Award Semifinalist last season after struggling early in the year. He connected on 21-of-28 field goal attempts for the Tigers. He was also listed as the back-up punter on the Tigers' 2015 post spring depth chart two weeks ago.

Clemson's back-up kicker is redshirt freshman Alex Spence. Spence has yet to attempt a field goal or PAT in a game. Top Stories
