Ajukwa (6'6", 205 lbs.), a versatile guard, averaged 2.7 points and 1.4 rebounds in 9.8 minutes per 55 games. The decision comes just two days before the Tigers' exhibition versus Lenoir-Rhyne on November 5th.
"I understand his desire to play a bigger role, but I’m obviously disappointed with the timing of this decision,” Brownell said. “We appreciate Austin’s contributions to our program the past two years and wish him well in the future. We are ready to turn our focus toward the season, beginning with Thursday’s exhibition in Greenville."
It's unknown at this time whether Clemson will acquire a graduate transfer at the last minute. The Tigers do have a fair amount of depth at the guard position this season. Ajukwa is the 7th player to transfer out of the Clemson program during Brownell's tenure.
