Tigers Still Looking at Louisiana WR?

Steven Whitehead, an outstanding athlete from Louisiana, continues to receive attention from several schools, but he hasn't heard from one of his favorites in some time. CUTigers.com caught up with the burner from Salmen High School, and we've got the latest on which schools are showing the most interest and where the Tigers stand.

WR/CB Steven Whitehead
5-8, 170, 4.4
Salmen High School
Slidell, Louisiana

The Slidell star has had several impressive camp performances this summer, but he is still waiting on the offers from the major college football programs. Whitehead was named the top receiver at the Bowden Academy earlier this summer where he came away very impressed with Tommy Bowden.

Whitehead would love to play for Tommy Bowden and the Clemson Tigers, but he hasn't heard from the Tigers lately. "I haven't gotten any mail from them in some time," stated Whitehead. The schools showing the most interest for Whitehead right now are Nebraska, Colorado and Southern Mississippi.

The 5-8, 170 pound receiver/cornerback, who recently ran a 4.29 forty, has finished his summer camp tour, and is ready for practice to start. "I was planning to go visit Mississippi State this weekend but I have family reunion. Practice starts next Monday. I'm can't wait. I'm ready for the season."

We will continue to keep you updated on this talented athlete from Louisiana, right up through signing day 2004.
