3-0 Clemson Plays UMass Monday Night

Clemson Basketball looks to remain undefeated and improve to 4-0 against UMass in Las Vegas on Monday Night!

The Clemson Tigers (3-0) take on the Massachusetts Minutemen (3-0) in the 1st round of the MGM Grand Main Event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena (16,800 seats) on Monday.

Clemson is currently ranked #1 in scoring defense in the NCAA, allowing just 47.0 points through 3 games, and Jordan Roper's 16:1 assist-turnover ratio through 3 games is currently tied for #1 in the NCAA.

Massachusetts has three players averaging double-figure scoring; Jabarie Hinds (22.3 points), Trey Davis (16.3 points) and Donte Clark (14.7 points).

Clemson and UMass played in the championship game of the 2013 Charleston Classic. Both teams also were undefeated then at 6-0, and the Minutemen won 62-56. The all-time series is tied at 1-1. Landry Nnoko, Jaron Blossomgame, Jordan Roper, Josh Smith and Sidy Djitte all played against Massachusetts in 2013. Trey Davis and Tyler Bergantino played against them for UMass.

The game is being streamed on MGM.BDGlobalSports.com on Monday at 9:30 PM ET. The winner/loser of tomorrow's matchup faces the winner/loser of Creighton vs. Rutgers (Monday, 11:59 PM ET).


• This is the Tiger program’s first trip to Las Vegas for basketball since the 1983-84 season, when Clemson played at UNLV and two days later played Marshall in a neutral site game.

• Four members of Clemson’s current team played in the most recent game against UMass in 2013. Jaron Blossomgame posted nine points in 24 minutes. Sidy Djitte, Landry Nnoko and Jordan Roper also played. Roper suffered a concussion and was limited to five minutes.

• Clemson’s starting backcourt of Avry Holmes and Roper enter the event with a combined 28-to-3 assist-to-turnover ratio. Roper has just one against 16 assists, and has led the Tigers in helpers all three games this season.

• Roper is set to play his 100th career game Monday against the Minutemen.

• Jaron Blossomgame is coming off a season-high 22 points against Texas Southern; he tied a career-best with nine field goals.

• Sidy Djitte posted his first career double-double last time out; he did it with career high totals for both points (13) and rebounds (11).
