The Clemson-Grayson pipeline continues, as 4-star QB Chase Brice has made his verbal pledge to the Clemson staff. This comes just 48 hours after the commitment of fellow 2017 classmate, QB Hunter Johnson, who revoked his commitment to Tennessee in favor of the Tigers. Dabo Swinney has built a nice pipeline with Grayson, thanks in large part to his relationship with Head Coach Mickey Conn, who was Swinney's teammate at Alabama. Current Grayson alums on the Clemson roster include Wayne Gallman, Ryan Carter and Nick Schuessler. I have spoken with someone close to the situation, and this was a numbers deal, as there was one more QB spot left on the 2017 board, and Brice jumped on it rather than wait and possibly lose his spot should another QB have taken it. Also, the word is that Hunter Johnson was aware of the staff's QB numbers and knew that another QB would be taken in this class, so there should be no issue as far as he is concerned.
