Mackensie Alexander Declares; Clemson Loses Another Defender Early to NFL

The Clemson defense took another blow on Wednesday, as Mackensie Alexander, one of the best corners in the nation, announced that he will forego his redshirt junior season in favor of the NFL.

Alexander is widely considered one of the best cover corners in the entire nation, and teams rarely tested him. He was essentially able to shut down passing to one side of the field for entire games, and he limited some of the best WR's in the nation, such as Will Fuller and Sterling Shepard.

Alexander joins defensive teammates Shaq Lawson, Kevin Dodd, Travis Blanks, Jayron Kearse and T.J. Green in leaving Clemson early for the NFL Draft.
