CUTigers has confirmed that Clemson just received the commitment of 2016 Safety Nolan Turner, of Vestavia Hills, Alabama. Nolan was offered personally by Dabo Swinney during a visit with the head coach, and he committed to the Tigers on the spot. We reached out to Nolan, and he had this to say in regard to his Clemson committment:
“Clemson was by far my best option. As soon as he offered me, I was All In. I love what their program stands for and the opportunities it brings me academically, as a player and as a man. I'm excited to announce my commitment and can't wait to be a Tiger!"
Nolan is the 16th commitment of the 2016 class, and he will take his official visit to Clemson next weekend. Turner is probably a mid-three-star prospect. In evaluating him on film, he has a great nose for the football in sniffing out goal line screens, and he gets to the line of scrimmage quickly in run support. The Tigers lost two starting safeties early to the NFL last week, in Jayron Kearse and T.J. Green.
