Swinney After One Of Nation's Best

Coach Swinney has already received a commitment from one of the top receivers in Alabama, and now based on our interview with this prospect, he is after one of the top receivers in the country. CUTigers.com caught up with this star receiver, and we've got the latest on his offer list and his top schools in this extensive report.

WR Nikita Stover
6-2, 187, 4.5
Hartselle High School
Hartselle, Alabama

The talented two-way superstar currently plays cornerback and receiver but most programs are looking at him at receiver. Stover had 723 yards receiving with 27 touchdowns as a junior for Hartselle High School.

The 6-2, 187 pound receiver has a very impressive offer list that includes Clemson, Louisville, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, South Carolina, Arkansas, Nebraska, Vanderbilt and Mississippi. Michigan and several other programs are showing significant interest.

"I wouldn't really say I have a top 5, but if I had to list 5 schools they would be Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Clemson and Louisville." Coach Swinney and Clemson are coming on strong for the outstanding receiver, as Stover has just recently started listing the Tigers among his top 5 schools.

Early playing time and the offensive system are two factors that Stover will consider when deciding where he will play college football. "I will look at how I fit in their system. I'm looking for early playing time. I want to play in offense where they pass a lot." Distance is not a factor for the talented prospect. "It doesn't matter," stated Stover.

The strengths for this prize recruit are numerous. "My strengths are my jumping ability and my hands. My vertical is about 38 or 40 inches." Stover won the state high jump championship as a sophomore, and he runs a very impressive 4.43 forty.

Don't expect an early decision from Stover, as he would like to take his visits before making a decision. We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding receiver from Alabama, right up through signing day 2004.
