Clemson hosted the second of three “Junior Days” this past weekend, and a host of regional prospects were in attendance to watch the Tigers work out in Death Valley in front of a “Youth Day” crowd.
Several players have chimed in to share their thoughts on their visits, and more than a few offers went out over the weekend.
The Tigers' 2017 class is taking shape in a hurry, and the first thing that stands out is the national reach the Clemson staff has been able to effect this year. Look at the current commit list: Indiana, Ohio, New Jersey, Tennessee (2), Georgia (3) and Florida. Not a single in-state prospect is on the 2017 commit list yet! It just goes to show you that the premier recruits outside the region are jumping at the ability to join the Tigers in the next class. This is really a result of last year's season and the past 5 seasons of 10-plus wins. Coach Dabo Swinney has built a culture of winning and most of all, ‘"The fun is in the winning!" Combined with Clemson’s notorious family appeal and atmosphere between players and coaches, kids and their families are lining up to see what Clemson has to offer.
The Tigers now sit with 9 commits in the 2017 class and picked up the only RB commit they will take in the class, so their class is already full at the QB and RB positions. Clemson is still trying to secure that last couple WR spots in the class and is still looking for at least one more OL, LB, CB and Safety to add to this class.

“The visit was great and the school was amazing. I got the opportunity to see the players scrimmage and to see how the coaching staff operates. We also got to hear a speech from Coach Swinney .That was very influential and made me see things from a different perspective while I continue to go through this recruiting process. We also saw the locker room and tried on jerseys and helmets. The support staff was also very imnpressive. I really enjoyed my opportunity to create a bond with Coach Venables. Clemson is a great place and it was a great experience. I will be returning for camp.”
