Wilson started the scoring with an opposite-field, three-run homer in the fourth inning, his fourth home run of the season. After the Seminoles plated three runs in the top of the fifth inning to tie the score, Clemson answered with three runs of its own in the bottom of the fifth inning on Okey’s two-run single and Wilson’s bases-loaded walk. The Tigers added an insurance run in the seventh inning, which had a 115-minute delay due to inclement weather. Okey then belted a three-run homer in the eighth inning, his eighth long ball of the year.

Tiger reliever Alex Eubanks (3-4) earned the win by tossing 2.2 scoreless innings of one-hit ball after relieving starter Charlie Barnes, who left the game in the 5th with a 3-1 lead and the bases loaded. Eubanks began the season out of the bullpen but graduated to regular rotation of starters. Monte Lee said that Eubanks would likely be used primarily out of the pen for the remainder of the season. After a rain delay of nearly two hours, Brooks Crawford pitched two scoreless innings to close the game for the Tigers. Clemson was aided by three double plays by its defense. Florida State starter Mike Compton (5-3) suffered the loss, as he gave up six runs on five hits in 4.0 innings pitched.
