CUTigers reached out to 4-star safety Atanza Vongor, the latest of five Texas prospects to receive offers from the Clemson staff for either the 2017 or 2018 class.
CUTigers: Tell us about the recent Clemson offer and how that was conveyed. Which coach gave you the offer?
Vongor: It was great! Coach Mike Reed came out to my spring practice on Friday. I got a chance to meet with him, and he was able to see me play. We were also able to talk on the phone as well.
CUTigers: Do you plan on making a visit to Clemson anytime soon, for camp or for a tour of campus?
Vongor: In regards to visiting, Coach Reed is working on getting up me there. I'd love to go visit, but there are no finalized visiting plans yet.
CUTigers: What was Coach Reed telling you about the position you are being offered to play at Clemson?
Vongor: We weren't able to talk too much about my safety spot, but I'll be calling him later on today and we'll talk on that a little bit.
CUTigers: What are your initial thoughts on the Tigers and Coach Reed?
Vongor: Clemson is a great program. Coach Reed made a great first impression for the coaching staff. Seems like they really care about their players. The football team is great and defense makes plays!
CUTigers: What player(s) would you say you particularly model your game after?
Vongor: I like to model my game a little off of Landon Collins, Jalen Ramsey and Cam Chancellor.
