Any educated person will tell you that numbers can be used to make everybody look as good or bad as you want them to. To warn you out of the gate, a quick look at these numbers will give you plenty of hope for the 2003 season.
The bad news is that somebody could just as easily spend the time to make the 2003 season look just as bleak. But for now, this will get you pumped up as we head towards August 30th.

Statistically, you can make an argument that Clemson will go 12-0. You can also dig up enough statistics that could foresee a 0-12 regular season if you dug long enough.
The bottom line is that games are won on the field. However, the next time one of our opponents this year try and tell you that there is no way Clemson will win the game versus them, throw out the above factoids and hopefully they'll shut up. If they don't, then I guess the Tigers will just have to make you look smart by winning on the field.
