"Yeah, I am no longer committed to South Carolina. The situation with Curtis Rice caused me to change my commitment."
The 6-3, 185 pound prospect, who also shows his talents on the basketball court, currently has offers from South Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee and South Carolina State.
"My favorites right now are Clemson, Florida, Tennessee, Syracuse and Georgia," said Rice.
Does that mean the star receiver is no longer looking at the Gamecocks? "I'm still considering them, but not as strong as I was," stated Rice.
The Clemson Tigers have not offered the prize recruit yet, but that could change soon as the Tigers seem to be showing more interest. "They have started recruiting me harder. I haven't talked with the coaches, but they are writing a lot."
The AAAA All-State receiver has attended numerous games at Death Valley in the past, and he plans to see some more this season. "I will probably be there for the Georgia game," stated Rice.
Rice is not sure when he will make a decision at this point. "I want to just keep looking around. I plan to take my visits and then make a decision later this fall."
We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding receiver from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2004.
