Clemson Has Longest Active Streak in AP Top Five

After a dominant 59-0 performance in an abbreviated game, Clemson remains in the #3 spot in the Coaches Poll and #5 in the AP.

The Tigers extended their school-record home win streak to 18 games on Saturday with a 59-0 win over SC State in Death Valley. At the request of the officials, the second half was shortened to 12-minute quarters after a 45-0 Clemson halftime lead. Deshaun Watson played sparingly in the first half only, as he and the offense were hitting on all cylinders from the opening possession.

Not surprisingly, the Tigers were jumped in the Coaches Poll by Ohio State, who dispatched Oklahoma with ease on Saturday night in Norman. Louisville also had a dominant win over FSU, and the Cardinals joined the Buckeyes ahead of Clemson in the AP Poll, along with #1 Alabama and #4 Michigan. The one head-scratcher in the AP Top Five is Michigan, which has not played a decent team yet and hasn't beaten a decent team going all the way to last season. The Wolverines, in fact, trailed bottom-dweller Colorado at home 21-0 on Saturday before rallying to a win.

Clemson has the longest active streak in the AP Top-Five at 12 consecutive weeks. Alabama is second at 10 weeks. Click on the links below to view Sunday's Polls.
