Dabo Announced Wednesday Evening That Clemson DE Austin Bryant Will Not Play in Louisville Game

Clemson fans were hoping starting DE Austin Bryant would make his 2016 debut against Louisville on Saturday, but Dabo announced Wednesday evening that Bryant will be held another week.

Dabo had originally told us Bryant was physically ready to play against Georgia Tech but that they would hold him until the Louisville game. When I asked Dabo about Bryant's status on Sunday evening, Dabo peculiarly said he wasn't ready to respond to that, so I had a hunch we might not see Bryant make his return from injury this week. Bryant was the starting DE entering August camp before breaking a bone in his toe and having an screw surgically inserted. Christian Wilkins moved over to end from his defensive tackle position and has been outstanding in Bryant's stead, but the Tigers were hopeful that Bryant would be able to provide some depth in Saturday's highly anticipated ACC Atlantic showdown between top-5 teams.

Dabo spoke with us following practice on Wednesday evening when he revealed the news about Bryant.
