SHELBY, NC - Justin Foster is ranked #199 in the current Scout 300 and has picked his college of choice. As we projected on CUTigers.com last week, Foster picked Clemson Tigers.

Foster had narrowed an impressive list of Power Five offers down to Clemson, Tennessee and UGA. Notre Dame made a late push and was in contention up until around early September when Justin trimmed his list to this final three.

Tennessee was perceived to be the runner up here, as Justin had made several trips to see the Vols in person in Knoxville and came away very impressed with the game day environment.

But Clemson and its long-standing relationship with recruiter of record Dan Brooks and the Tigers' Defensive Coordinator, Brent Venables, was just too much to overcome here.

Justin was in Clemson for the Tigers' past two home wins against SC State and #3 Louisville, where he was hanging out with all the current 2017 commits on campus as though was already in the fold.

What the Tigers are getting in Foster:

With Foster, first thing you get before he even puts on a football uniform is a high-character kid.  Justin is very together and easy-going and has a real grip on his academic and football life. He takes things at a real easy pace in life.

On the football field, the exact opposite is true. He plays very light on his feet, seeking out contact, and is true OLB/DE with his size and ability to set the edge on running plays. He also has the skill set to get to the quarterback in passing sets.  Look for Justin to get a shot on the WILL linebacker spot in Clemson’s defense, but at 6’4 and around 230 pounds and time in the Clemson strength and conditioning program, Foster should most certainly grow into a player we could see at DE or MLB one day.
