Top NC Athlete Looking At Clemson

Last Friday I had the pleasure of watching one of the top athletes in North Carolina. Tonight I caught up with Rockingham's Jamar Bryant to find out where his impressive offer list stands and to find out if he is ready to name a favorite.

ATH Jamar Bryant
Richmond Senior High School
Rockingham, North Carolina

Bryant does it all for Richmond Senior High including playing quarterback, punter and also some defensive back. Richmond defeated a very talented Providence team in the season opener and Bryant led the way with 220 yards passing and 60 yard rushing. The outstanding athlete also threw for 2 touchdowns and scored another with an impressive run.

The impressive offer list includes Clemson, Nebraska, Virginia, North Carolina, Duke, Michigan and East Carolina. Bryant is not ready to go on record with a leader or a list of favorites at this point.

Coach O'Cain is recruiting the Richmond Senior star as a receiver or defensive back for the Tigers. Nebraska and North Carolina are recruiting Bryant as a quarterback while the others are recruiting him as a receiver or defensive back. "I don't care which position. I just want to play."

The summer camp tour included stops at Clemson and North Carolina earlier this summer. "Clemson was pretty good. I especially liked the weight room. I also liked the stadium."

Bryant would love to play with his talented teammate Dannell Ellerbe who is also being recruited by the Tigers among others. "We will probably go the same place because we are real close," stated the prize recruit.

Distance will not be a factor for the talented athlete. "I don't really care. I'll go anywhere just to play."

Bryant does not plan to attend the Clemson game this weekend but he does plan to catch the Tigers in action later this season. "I will probably come see the Florida State game," stated the prize recruit.

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding athlete from North Carolina, right up through signing day 2004. Top Stories
